“Best Practice” programs are offered to any group, organization, school or church looking to address the issue of teen pregnancy effectively. Impact pretest students to determine the need of the youth and then chooses a best practice curriculum to utilize for 15 weeks with the students. “Best Practice” curriculum consists of ten effective characteristics researched by ETR Associates and Dr. Douglas Kirby as effective in the prevention of teen pregnancy. Impact will provide staff to meet with youth once a week for 15 weeks. The program consists of 15 sessions and a fun trip (for those that attend 80% of sessions). Current locations for “Best Practice” programs: Department of Juvenile Justice Anderson County, Anderson Alternative School, Starr Iva Middle School, Crescent High School and Oconee Alternative School. Students can stay involved with Impact after 15 sessions through a referral to Youth Volunteer Corps or Word Up Teens.
